Trimont
Christian Academy was founded in 1982 by Juanita Arnold and
Linda Brogden as a pre-school facility, the Early Childhood
Learning Center. In 1992, the school was relocated to Bidwell
Street in Franklin, NC. The building that once housed the
Neal-Potts Funeral Home was significantly renovated and named
Trimont Christian Academy. It also expanded to include kindergarten
through sixth grades. In 1992 the school had ninety students
and a staff of ten. By 1998 a middle school and high school
were added.
In
2000, Trimont moved to its current location on Promise Lane.
Recent additions are the hiring of an athletic director, and
construction of a playground. Robert Ricotta was hired as
school administrator in 2002 and recently announced plans
to add twelve classrooms, a library, and a science lab to
the current building. Current enrollment is 198 [2004-2005]
which includes 10 home schoolers that attend a portion of
each day, and 88 preschoolers. There are currently 31 staff
and also many volunteers that make Trimont a great place to
learn.
